Formatting Adventure Log Posts
Here are a couple of helpful items I’ve found for formatting posts in the log. I’m enough of a formatting geek that I tend to use a lot of these (truth be told, I’ve edited this post a dozen times already trying to get it to look right).
*Bold text*– surround a word or phrase with
*to make it bold.
_Italic text_– surround a word or phrase with
_to make it italic.
- Lists – start a series of lines with
*to make a bullet list. Use
#to make a numbered list.
<!--more-->on a line by itself will “break” your post into two parts. It will automatically add a “click here to continue reading” link. Since we tend to have a lot of long log entries, I plan on using this a lot.
h6.– Start a line with one of these to create heading lines of various sizes. 1 is the biggest and boldest, 6 is almost the same as regular text. For example, I start most of Father Brooks journals off with the date on a
bq.– Block-quotes are whole paragraphs that are indented and in a different font. I usually use this for an “aside” within the journal.
There is a lot more you can do – the full reference can be found here.
